Hope for a Better Future (H4BF) is proud to have participated in the Gender-Based Violence Information Management System (GBVIMS) Service Provider Training for the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon, held in Limbe from 20th to 24th April 2026 at MACSON Hotel.
The important capacity-building initiative was organized by TeenAlive Association and facilitated by experts from United Nations Population Fund in collaboration with key humanitarian and protection actors including United Nations Children’s Fund, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, International Rescue Committee, and the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and the Family (MINPROFF).
The five-day training brought together GBV service providers and humanitarian actors working across the North West and South West Regions to strengthen coordination, improve data management practices, and enhance survivor-centered approaches in GBV response programming.
Strengthening Technical Capacity in GBVIMS
Throughout the training, participants engaged in intensive learning sessions covering key components of the GBVIMS framework. The sessions focused on practical and ethical approaches to managing sensitive GBV information while ensuring confidentiality, dignity, and protection for survivors.
Key areas covered during the training included:
- Introduction to GBVIMS tools and systems
- Intake forms and incident recording procedures
- Coding and incident classification
- Consent and survivor-centered approaches
- Data protection and confidentiality
- Information Sharing Protocols (ISP)
- Roles, responsibilities, and data flow management
- Reporting and data analysis
- Practical case scenarios and incident recorder exercises
The training also included simulations and scenario-based exercises designed to strengthen participants’ practical understanding of GBV case management and safe data handling processes.
H4BF’s Commitment to Protection and Humanitarian Response
As an organization working with vulnerable and crisis-affected communities in Cameroon, H4BF recognizes the critical importance of ethical information management, survivor protection, and coordinated humanitarian response systems.
Participation in the GBVIMS training aligns with H4BF’s ongoing commitment to:

H4BF continues to implement community-based initiatives focused on protection, resilience, women and girls’ empowerment, child protection, livelihoods, and humanitarian support across crisis-affected communities in Cameroon.
