The Issues
Women and youth in underserved regions of Cameroon face numerous challenges, from limited access to education and employment opportunities to inadequate healthcare services. Gender inequality further exacerbates these challenges, with traditional roles restricting women's economic independence and personal development. Youth, particularly in rural areas, often struggle with high unemployment rates, lack of vocational skills, and a lack of opportunities to engage in sustainable income-generating activities. These issues are compounded by the social and psychological impacts of crisis-related displacement and instability, leaving communities in a cycle of poverty and vulnerability.
At H4BF, we recognize the urgency of addressing these barriers. We are committed to empowering women and youth with the tools, skills, and support they need to unlock their full potential, improve their livelihoods, and contribute to their communities' growth and sustainability. Our Approach
Engage, Inspire, Empower, Connect
We engage women and youth by listening to their needs and ensuring our programs are tailored to their real-life situations. Involving them in decision-making fosters a sense of ownership and helps us respond effectively. Through activities like community events, games, and sports, we promote social cohesion while building emotional resilience through psychosocial support, including group counseling and therapy.
Our programs inspire participants by showcasing real-life success stories and the possibilities of what can be achieved. We demonstrate that skills, determination, and perseverance can create opportunities. Whether through renewable energy, agriculture, or entrepreneurship, we empower women and youth to think creatively, take initiative, and build successful ventures.
We provide hands-on training in marketable skills like renewable energy, smart agriculture, IT, fashion design, and entrepreneurship. By equipping women and youth with these skills, we improve their livelihood prospects and enable them to start businesses. We also offer business development support, mentorship, and access to resources like incubators, ensuring they have the tools to succeed in the long run.
Building a robust support network is essential for sustainable success. We connect women and youth with mentors, funding opportunities, and local and international networks. Through these connections, participants gain the knowledge, financial backing, and partnerships needed to scale their businesses, while also fostering a sense of community and collaboration.

Equipping women and youth with the skills to become solar entrepreneurs, providing solar lamps and cookstoves to communities in need.
Teaching sustainable farming techniques to improve food security and agricultural productivity.
Offering training in business management, financial planning, and marketing to help participants turn ideas into successful ventures.
Offering digital literacy training to unlock career opportunities in today’s tech-driven world.
Training women in tailoring, sewing, and designing clothes to start their own businesses.
Our mentorship programs connect participants with experienced entrepreneurs and experts, offering guidance and support as they grow their businesses.
