At Hope for a Better Future (H4BF), we are committed to strengthening and supporting survivors and creating real change in the lives of vulnerable women and children. From March 18 to 21, our dedicated social workers at the H4BF Women and Girls Empowerment Center in Nkambe took part in an intensive four day training organized by Intersos. This training was more than just a learning experience. It was a transformative step in our ability to provide comprehensive care for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), child abuse, and trauma.
Strengthening Our Skills to Expand Our Impact:
Every month, our center provides critical support to 50 to 100 survivors, offering them safety, healing, and the tools to rebuild their lives. To ensure we continue making a meaningful impact, this training focused on three essential areas:
GBV Prevention & Survivor Support :
The focus of this training was on strengthening our ability to identify, intervene, and provide trauma-informed care to survivors, ensuring they receive the help they need with dignity and respect.

Child Protection:
Enhancing our strategies to protect vulnerable children, intervene early in cases of abuse, and create a safe environment for them to heal and grow. Through our SMART KIDS program, we are protecting vulnerable children and creating safe environment for them to thrive in skill development.
Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (MHPSS)
Equipping our team with advanced skills to address trauma, provide emotional support, and empower survivors to regain confidence and independence. By strengthening our support for survivors, we are ensuring that every person who walks through our doors receives the holistic care, legal assistance, and empowerment opportunities they need to thrive .
